Christian Zeitnitz has provided Dynex with a customised version of his popular Soundcard Oscilloscope software. The "Scope" software is used to measure the level of vibration. This version includes a "phase shift" estimator for balancing.

The phase shift feature can be accessed under the "Measure" menu on the bottom of the application window.

Click on "phase measurement" to activate this feature. Once activated, the label "Phase diff." will appear in the scope window.

Clicking on "CH1" and "CH2" button's will allow the user to select the phase shift reference signal. As phase angle is a relative measurement, the user may need to toggle between "CH1" and "CH2" to see the correct angle. Always check that the measurement makes sense. If in doubt revert to the method in the Vortex Manual.
Note that this tool is for estimation only. For better results, calculate the phase shift using the "time" measurement tool under "cursors".
